2015 GOALS

Happy belated New Year!

I have been contemplating what to post for the last couple of weeks. Do I update about books? Do I update about projects? Do I update about updates?

Needless to say, my head was spinning.

The following is simply a rambling about what I think you would like to know. Warning: Please have a cup of coffee to keep your eyes open or your favorite wine so you can be drunk enough to get through it all.

Okay. 2014. What was that all about? It was here then it was gone, but like a tornado, it left a lot of damage in its wake. I won’t bore you with the details because I don’t want to start off the year whining.

Now that I got that out of the way, I have to say I am excited about 2015! I have decided to set GOALS and COMPLETE them. Yes, you heard me right. I have decided it’s time for me to get things done. What things? Well, check out my list. I will refer to it throughout the year so I can cross off whatever I have accomplished. Take a look at my plans.

  • Write The Diamond Mini-Series, Book 4
  • Revise Winter Rayne
  • Complete the following WIPs: Nerves of Steel, The Good Breakup (tentative title), and Wiley Manor
  • Write The Diamond Mini-Series, Book 5
  • Post vlogs on my Youtube channel. (You can check it out HERE)
  • Start my Newsletter

Those are only a few of my GOALS, but they are the most important work goals I would like to accomplish.

In my personal life, well lets just say that the list is too long to post!!!

I will share the most important one, though.

I will be working very hard this year to provide my 6 year old with a CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor) to help keep track of her blood glucose levels and alert me to any drops in the middle of the night. Although there isn’t a cure for Type 1 Diabetes yet, I will do my best to make life as safe and normal as possible for my daughter for as long as she has to live with this autoimmune disease. I know there will be a cure one day and I look forward to it.

So, if that wasn’t enough for you, you can visit my website at http://www.jmzuniga.com

Visit the website contact page to sign up for my newsletter. It will be coming out in March of this year. Enjoy exclusive content and opportunities to win paperbacks and gift cards.

If you’d like to contact me you can do so at authorjmzuniga@gmail.com or comment below.

I will respond personally to your email or comment.

When infatuation turns into obsession…no one is safe.

For the past few months, an admirer has been showering Gwyneth with unexpected gifts. At first, she is flattered, but when the gifts turn into more than just tokens of affection, she reaches out to the police. With Detective Aaron Tate leading the investigation and keeping a close eye on Gwyneth, she begins to feel safe and more relaxed—that is until things go from being creepy to downright dangerous. With her life in peril, Gwyneth becomes her own protector. However, will that be enough to keep her safe?

A Bit of Encouragement

Years ago, my mom gave me a card with this poem. It has seen a lot of times when I have been close to quitting. ~J. M.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low, and the debt is high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit!

Life is queer, with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turn about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit,
It’s when things seem worse,
that you must not quit. ~Clinton Howell

Awesome Speech by Ashton Kutcher

I thought this speech by “Chris” Ashton Kutcher at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards was amazing. Today, in a society where kids look up to celebrities, it is great to hear one of them give such a positive message. These are life lessons that teens, as well as adults, should take to heart. His message conveyed that hard work is key. I like the fact that he said, “I’ve never had a job that I’ve been better than”. That statement was a very humble one and I applaud Kutcher for thinking as he does. He also said, “The sexiest thing in the entire world is being really smart. And being thoughtful, and being generous. Everything else is crap, I promise you. It’s just crap that people try to sell to you to make you feel like less. So don’t buy it!” THANK YOU MR. KUTCHER!!!! It’s about time someone that kids admire said this. In a day and age where teens are buying into all of this “crap”, they need to hear and understand this.
Have a look and leave your opinion =)
